Keeping You Safe at MedHelp

Feb 01, 2021 COVID-19 Share:

We understand that you may be concerned about visiting a MedHelp clinic for urgent care or primary care needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve implemented several safety measures to minimize risk and keep you safe.

COVID-19 stays out

You never have to worry about encountering a patient with COVID-19 in our waiting room. All patients with symptoms of COVID-19 receive testing through our drive-up clinic. If a patient tests negative for COVID-19, they may then enter the clinic for further testing or treatment. Patients without symptoms of COVID-19 may visit MedHelp for urgent care or primary care treatment without testing.

Masks are required at MedHelp

We are following state and local mask ordinances at all five of our Birmingham-area clinics. Under the current Safer at Home order, individuals are required to wear a mask when they're out in public. Masks should be worn when visiting any MedHelp clinic.

Distance, please

Patients are able to maintain social distance in our waiting rooms. We’ve provided helpful indicators so that patients can keep at least six feet of distance from others.

Telehealth visits at MedHelp

Virtual doctor visits are now available. Our telehealth service is perfect for patients who would prefer to receive treatment from the comfort of their own home. While telehealth isn’t a replacement for an in-person visit, many urgent care needs can be treated through a virtual visit. Telehealth is also an option for patients who need to check in with their primary care doctor for status updates and prescription refills. Learn more about our telehealth services here.

All MedHelp clinics and waiting rooms are safe for patients who are concerned about exposure to COVID-19. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.

We're here for you.

Our five Birmingham MedHelp clinic locations are safer than ever, so there’s no need to put off getting the care you need. Walk-ins are always welcome for urgent care visits.
