Gynecologic Care at MedHelp

Comprehensive gynecologic care is available to patients at MedHelp Women's and Wellness, located at our Lakeshore clinic in Homewood. Here, our dedicated team provides comprehensive gynecologic services to women, from routine exams and operations to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

We treat women of all ages, from adolescence through menopause.

What to Expect at Your Gynecology Visit

MedHelp Women’s and Wellness is located at MedHelp Lakeshore in Homewood. There’s no need to deal with a frustrating hospital parking deck; free parking is available right outside our clinic. Women’s and Wellness patients have their own entrance, waiting room, and check-in area that’s separate from our Homewood urgent care clinic.

At every visit, you’ll receive personalized care from our experienced and compassionate providers. As part of the MedHelp team, we're able to easily collaborate with our other physicians to serve patients with other medical issues.

Gynecologic Services at MedHelp

We provide a full suite of gynecologic services at MedHelp Women's and Wellness, including routine gynecologic care, preventive medicine, 3D mammography, and hormone management.

We offer all types of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) options, including Biote pellets and compounded prescriptions such as creams and troches.

In addition to our standard services, we also feature Forma V Vaginal Rejuvenation. This non-hormonal, non-surgical treatment is perfect for patients with vaginal dryness, stress urinary incontinence, or pain during intercourse.

Practice Update

After more than 30 years of prioritizing patient care, Dr. Tamucci is taking steps to focus on her own health and wellness. She recognizes the importance of practicing what she preaches about healthy living, and she's adjusting her schedule to make that possible.

To continue serving the growing number of patients seeking bioidentical hormone replacement therapy without compromising quality of care, Dr. Tamucci has brought on two nurse practitioners she personally selected and trained. These experienced providers have completed specialized Biote hormone training and have worked under Dr. Tamucci's guidance for months to ensure they deliver the same high standard of care patients expect.

Dr. Tamucci will transition into a supervisory role, collaborating with the nurse practitioners on a daily basis. DeeAnn, Dr. Tamucci's nurse, continues to be an integral part of the team and brings years of experience in hormone management.

The quality and approach to care will remain the same. However, patients may see one of the nurse practitioners for their appointments while Dr. Tamucci provides oversight and guidance.

Dr. Ashley Tamucci

Dr. Ashley Tamucci is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has practiced medicine for over 25 years. Formerly at Brookwood Hospital, Dr. Tamucci has served as the OB Chair, Department Chair, and on the Board of Directors of Brookwood Hospital. Dr. Tamucci transitioned to providing only gynecologic care in January 2022.

Dr. Tamucci now serves in a supervisory role at MedHelp Women's and Wellness, where she collaborates daily with her team of providers to ensure every patient receives personalized, high-quality care throughout all stages of life.

Julie Phillips, MSN, CRNP, DNP

Julie Phillips has been a nurse practitioner since 2010 and is dual-certified in both Family and Acute Care specialties. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Julie has been part of the MedHelp team for nine years and is now joining Dr. Tamucci's Women's and Wellness Clinic. Drawing from both her clinical expertise and her personal experience navigating perimenopause, she is passionate about supporting women through every stage of life with holistic, individualized care.

Her training with BIOTE further deepened her commitment to offering holistic, individualized options for women’s health. She believes bioidentical hormone replacement can be transformative and is dedicated to making the journey through perimenopause and menopause more manageable, empowering women to feel their best.

Lisa Carboni, CRNP

Lisa Carboni earned her BSN from Auburn University in 2005 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Auburn University in 2025. She has spent the past 20 years in nursing with a deep passion for women's health.

Lisa worked as a Mother-Baby and Women's Health nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital for 17 years and has been an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for 11 years. She has also served as a corporate health nurse for over 14 years, delivering preventive care and wellness programs.

As a Biote-certified provider, Lisa is passionate about guiding women through perimenopause and menopause using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy while empowering them with lifestyle strategies to enhance overall health and well-being.
